Based in Nuuk, Greenland, Arctic Hub serves as a central point of contact for Greenland’s local and international research community. Established in 2021 through a partnership between the Greenlandic and Danish governments, the company focus on building bridges between people, institutions, and countries engaged in Greenlandic research. Moreover, they contribute to ensuring that knowledge from research reaches the public.
Arctic Hub is founded on the basic understanding that knowledge is most valuable if it is shared and activated. The website’s main task is to help create new networks and workflows that can help knowledge travel around more easily – both in Greenland, the Danish Realm and internationally.
Technology and process
This project was taken over from another developer, which required some time to get acquainted with the codebase and developers practises. We used wordpress, with advanced custom fields. I build most of the components, and the animations on the front page. I used GSAP for the animations.
The main challenge was animating the hero on the front page – but this was also the most fun part of the project.
